Melindria draws her inspirations from her surroundings. The buildings and landscapes that have touched her life are often the subject of her art.

The artist was born and lived in New York City for much of her adult life. In early 2000s, she and her husband visited the North Shore of New Brunswick and were so impressed by its beauty and spirit that they purchased a vacation cottage on its Restigouche River. She joined the Bathurst Art Society in 2004 and two years later the Canadian government granted her a permit to work as an artist. Melindria and her husband became Canadian citizens in 2020.

Melindria has painted since childhood. Her creative expression ranges from realism to the abstract and she uses multitude of mediums: watercolour, dry and oil pastel, ink, coloured pencil, charcoal and acrylic. The artist has been exhibiting in selective group shows since 1978 in NYC, upstate NY,  the New England states and Canada. Her most recent solo exhibits have been in the state of Maine and New Brunswick.

Melindria has a BA degree in Art History from the University of Wisconsin, and enrolled in fine arts classes while there.
