Have you ever wondered how an Artist determines the price of his/her painting?

Each Artist takes in consideration the materials used, framing, time and vision.  Also added cost of the Art Galleries commissions which can differ from one gallery to another depending on location and overhead costs.  One way to determine an amount of a painting is figuring out one dollar per square inch.  For example for a large painting such as 30″x 40″= $1200 + 20% or 40% commission for gallery + price of frame if one is added.  Some artists may use $0.75 or $0.50 per square inch depending on the size of painting.
